Tuesdays Aug 1, 8, 15, 22 10:30-11 am STORYTIME READING FOR  CHILDREN: Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for some stories and songs with Ms. Thea,  our local children’s librarian. Find out about all the free and wonderful programs happening at the Ottendorfer Library!
Sunday  6-Aug 12-2:30 pm #KIDSCOOK! Garden, and Harvest. First we garden and harvest crops & herbs from the 6&B Garden. Adding veggies from our local farmers market, we’ll cook a healthy summertime family recipe and taste our creation. You’ll leave with the recipe to try at home. Ages 5 & up.
Sunday  6-Aug 4-6 pm HAYES GREENFIELD & Gravity Unplugged: Hayes– man what ever happened to that Cat! I heard he died or was put in jail by the Bebop Police. Sure is good to know he’s still out here doing his thing, playing his horn through a bunch of guitar effects with this kid drummer. Some kind of cool sonic journey!
Satuday 12-Aug 7pm MUSIC under THE STARS, curated by garden Joff Wilson: Local Legends—and Up-and-Coming Legends—present an evening of inspiring music.
Sunday 13-Aug 4-6 pm A Garden Variety – POETRY and PROSE, hosted by Mindy Levokove. Words among the bleeding hearts and the tomatoes. Featured readers & a short open mic. Bring words or just come to listen. RAINDATE: Monday, August 14, 7-9 pm.
Wednesday 16-Aug 7pm Are you READY to GET LUCKY? Take your chances and, just maybe, bring home a wonderful recycled treasure, from 6 & B BINGO!
Saturday 19-Aug 7:30-10 pm ALPHABET CITY SHORT FILM FESTIVAL, now in its second year, features local New York City independent filmmakers. An eclectic night of screenings with documentary, drama, and comedy, coordinated by Kris Enos. Expect popcorn, filmmaker Q&A, and garden fireflies! Fun for all ages on a big screen.
Thursday 24-Aug 7:30-10 pm LOWER EAST SIDE HIGH SCHOOL FILM FESTIVAL, featuring Brooklyn Law & Tech Jets Basketball Team, Dance Competition, Kamikaze Dance, and Soccer Champions. Curated by Jimmy Dougherty.
Saturday 26-Aug 11am PAINT THE GARDEN with watercolorist Dorine Oliver. Have fun with watercolors, without fear, but with creativity and advice from a NYC artist. For adult and children, paint brushes and paper optional (we’ll provide some supplies). Monet, Hockney, Picasso, Sargent, watch out, here we come!
Saturday 26-Aug 3pm PAPER BEAD MAKING WORKSHOP: Transform paper scraps into jewelry that you can wear, with Alex Coleman, jeweler extraordinaire.
Saturday 26-Aug 7pm Sounds in the Garden: NOWHERESVILLE, coordinated by garden member Peter Loureiro, featuring an eclectic mix of NYC singer-songwriters.
Sunday 27-Aug 1-3:45 pm DRAWING IN THE GARDEN: Enjoy (almost) 3 hours of drawing from a model in our beautiful garden. Bring your art supplies. Some supplies available. Don’t forget the insect repellent. Organized by Effie Serlis.
